This was my second time
planning an event on Ventnor Downs.
The previous time I used the steep area south of the Radar Station, but
as this did not prove very popular with runners, I decided to avoid it this time
and use more of the area in the north east of the map.
I have
always thought that the complex area at the western edge of the map is quite
interesting so having copied the map at twice the scale, I spoke with Peter to
see if he could incorporate this area blown up¹ and insert in on the main
map. This he managed to do and I
think it works very well.
Fortunately
Sunday was a much better day than Saturday when I put out some of the controls
(horizontal rain and visibility of 10 metres!) and after a slow start at least
all the courses had entrants.
I would
like to thank Sue, Glynn, Dean, Tony, Sean and Jane for helping to collect the
controls. Also Peter for his help
with the map.
