VENTNOR DOWNS
Sunday 7th
October 2007
Ventnor Downs is undoubtedly our best area, with
spectacular views, varied terrain and a wealth of features. It was a real
pleasure to plan an event on such an area with a new and accurate map.
The turn out was a little disappointing on such a beautiful day, but most of
you who did come seem to have enjoyed the experience, and there were many
favourable comments at the end, which is always appreciated by event organizers.
One little moan as usual. I would dearly
like to be able to produce a complete results list, including first names,
surnames and class, and would therefore ask everyone to fill in their
control cards before arriving at the start. Changes in the British Orienteering
insurance policy may well mean that we need a full list of competitors' names
in future.
Thanks to Carol Goodbourn and Chris for
registration, Sue and Ben Browning and Anne Marston for putting out the
string, Glyn and Sue for collecting in the string, and Keith Marston for
putting out and collecting in half the controls and manning the finish.
