Planners Report

Having planned several events over the past few years, it never ceases to

amaze me, how quiet it is, early morning or late evening, alone in the

countryside!  I am now used to receiving odd looks as I appear out of

the undergrowth and startle a dog walker or horse rider !

Westover was pleasantly dry  leading up to the event, which is such a big

bonus for both the planning process and the motivation of the organizer.

The forest continues to change each year, with many paths either

becoming overgrown, or simply disappearing altogether. This makes it

much harder to plan interesting or new routes for the shorter courses.

All the longer courses involved hill climbs and much colourful language was

consequently witnessed by the planner, as competitors finished their run!

We shared the downs with several Alpakas (similar to a llama), speedy

horses, landrovers and the expected numerous dog walkers.

Thanks to Sarah and Alex Ralph for helping with the Start and Finish and

to Glyn and Iris who wound in the string, despite their kind offer coinciding

with a particularly nasty brief rain shower!

See you at Borthwood, in your Christmas hats
