Having
planned several events over the past few years, it never ceases to |
amaze
me, how quiet it is, early morning or late evening, alone in the |
countryside! I am now used to receiving odd looks
as I appear out of |
the
undergrowth and startle a dog walker or horse rider ! |

Westover
was pleasantly dry leading up to
the event, which is such a big |
bonus
for both the planning process and the motivation of the organizer. |
The
forest continues to change each year, with many paths either |
becoming
overgrown, or simply disappearing altogether. This makes it |
much
harder to plan interesting or new routes for the shorter courses. |
All
the longer courses involved hill climbs and much colourful language was |
consequently
witnessed by the planner, as competitors finished their run! |

We
shared the downs with several Alpakas (similar to a llama), speedy |
horses,
landrovers and the expected numerous dog walkers. |

Thanks
to Sarah and Alex Ralph for helping with the Start and Finish and |
to
Glyn and Iris who wound in the string, despite their kind offer coinciding |
with
a particularly nasty brief rain shower! |
